Ardell Stone School of Dancing Performing Company wins Regional Awards!!!

Congratulations to the Ardell Stone School of Dancing Performing Company! The Ardell Stone dancers competed in Tremaine's Regional Dance Competition in Washington, DC. The girls competed against dancers from New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. They were judged on technique, showmanship, choreography and costumes.

The Junior Company won 2nd place Lyrical and 3rd place Jazz! This was their first competititon!

The Senior Company won 1st place Lyrical and 2nd place Jazz!

The Ardell Stone dancers also took classes in jazz, ballet, contemporary, street, tap and hip hop dance from some of the leading dance professionals in the country.

The dance students also auditioned for dance scholarships to attend future Tremaine Dance Conventions.

The Ardell Stone School of Dancing Performing Company will be competing at the Tremaine Regional Dance Competition in Washington, DC on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
The Ardell Stone students will also take classes in jazz, ballet, contemporary, tap and hip hop from some of the country's leading dance professionals.

The recital is Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre.

All dance classes will be held on Monday, December 19 and Tuesday, December 20.

The studio will be closed for the holidays December 21 - January 1, 2012. All classes will resume on Monday, January 2.

Parent's Visitation for Studio I is November 7 - 10, 2011.

Parent's Visitation for Studio II is November 14 -17, 2011.

Teaching dance is more than having a student copy steps that you dance. It is about teaching a solid foundation that can be built upon. Students are encouraged to look at the qualities that make up a movement and to have fun while learning.

At Ardell Stone School of Dancing, all students are given a nurturing and supportive environment to develop expression, performance and a passion for learning the art of dance and sharing it with others.

Some of our goals as teachers is to create well-rounded dancers who learn how to think, create and work with others, as well as they dance. This background will give them self-confidence that will help them in all areas of their life.
